A few updates and event information for you

Hello MPJS Parents and Carers,

I have had to send you another Covid letter this morning, because Public Health sent out the wrong letter about the advice for household testing, lateral flow tests etc. on Friday. They forget to add a list of exceptions so you now have these.

If you are in doubt about any aspect of absence/attendance or what to do re: covid or illness or the ever changing advice, always ask our knowledgeable office staff – we go through the new rules case by case every day!

Face coverings
Please wear these for inside events for the next few weeks, such as when in the reception office/celebration assembly/meetings. I am also restricting visitors to one adult per child for all events until half term (toddlers and babies do not count). I think this is a fair compromise so please support this. These events will include:

•    Weekly Friday Celebration Assembly
•    Year 3 Parent Meetings
•    Year 5 Anglo Saxon Assembly
•    Macmillan Cake Sale

Harvest Appeal Tuesday 12/10/21
Our Harvest Festival Assembly is tomorrow and we will be accepting donations tomorrow and for the rest of the week. Food and toiletries for Stretford Foodbank (list below) please and cash donations towards our Afghan Refugee Appeal via Care4Calais. We will record the children singing our Harvest songs for you and put them on the website.

Macmillan Cake Sale Friday 15/12/21
We are selling cakes to raise money for Macmillan Cancer in the Hall on Friday 15th October at the end of the day (from 3pm). Please bring some spending money in, come and buy cakes and any cake donations are more than welcome of course. Each class is cooking in the Food Tech Room this week to help support the charity appeal.

Year 3 Parents Drop-in Meetings Thursday 14/10/21 then Wednesday 20/10/21
In the hall (larger space) and we have the PVC screens in place too between teachers and parents.

Obviously, for all these events we ask that you do not attend if you or anyone in your household has covid symptoms.

Personal Social Health and Economic Education Survey Google Form 1
Please see a google form going out later this week with a paper copy of our curriculum. In 2019, we did meet with a group of parents about some of the reports going round about relationships education in schools. Parents were happy with what we told them about our school approach, but we thought we should refresh you as we are back to teaching all subjects.

Home Technology Survey Google Form 2
We will end this out on Friday. It is to see who has access to a laptop or device and Wi-Fi for Google Classroom and online homework and any periods of home learning. We can support you. If you are a year 3 parent, you may not know that we had 100% take up of our twice-a-day live Google Lessons during lockdown 2 :)

Kind regards, Mrs Nunwick
