How to get lateral flow test kits for your household

Hello everyone,

As I mentioned in Friday's Assembly, we have (mainly in Y3 and Y4) quite a few coughs, sore throats, colds and poorly tummies at the moment. We usually get these in October, so I'm thinking it is because the children have come back into contact after pretty much 3 months away from each other and don't have the immunity (note, I am not a Doctor!). The staff are doing the lateral flow tests twice a week, and the Government is now giving the kits free to all households with school age children to do at home if they like. I have pasted some information and links for you here:

"Collect test kits

You can collect 2 packs of home test kits at a local collection point. Each pack contains 7 tests.

Anyone 18 or over can collect.

Most collection points are open from 1.30pm to 7pm. You can check online if the location is open or busy before you go. You do not need to make an appointment.

Do not visit a collection point outside opening hours, as it may be used to test people with coronavirus symptoms outside these times.

Find your nearest home test kit collection point.

OR you can get them delivered to your home. Here is the link to the form:

Order by phone

If you’re eligible but you cannot order online, call 119.

Lines are open 7am to 11pm and calls are free."

I hope you find the links useful - some parents have used theirs to test their child when they have had a cough at the weekend - just as an initial indicator - and have kept me in the loop on - thank you for that.
