Headteacher Weekly News 2nd December 2019

Hello everyone,

I hope you have been reassured by the presence of the police this morning. They are rotating round the local schools after the incident I reported to you last week. They are also spotting any traffic issues while they are here. It's good to see them keeping our children safe.

We have been asked to sing at Stretford Public Hall on Saturday 7th December at 12.30 pm - sorry, letters should have gone out on Friday for this. Choir plus ANY enthusiastic singers welcome! We will be singing some festive songs that we are doing as a whole school, so nothing extra to learn.Letter out tonight. Thank you.

Our Decorating the Christmas Tree event on Friday was magical - if you follow us on twitter you can see us singing and cting out The 12 Days of Christmas - and Katy and Lizzy who put our commemmorative bauble on the tree and turned on the lights respectively did their parents proud.

A reminder that all our after school clubs finish on Friday 6th December. They will start again on Monday 13th January 2020. We will send out our new offer next week.

Thanks for the donations for our Barakah Food Aid class boxes already! Please keep these coming in over the next few weeks so we can take them on the last day of term.

Year 3 sound fantastic practising their Christmas performance on the stage (that you helped pay for). We are investing in some 'orchestra' microphones so that the sound gets picked up better when children are speaking. With the new lights (again, thank you) we are going to sound very professional!

PE - we try and get out if it is dry as there is so much more space so please send sweatshirt/hoodies/jogging bottoms/tracksuits etc. in with your child. Our second group of Y5 have gone out today for a bit with coats on and are currently running around outside my office (It was too cold first thing so the two classes did music together).

I hope you found the list of dates useful. They are also attached to the parent/newsletter tab on here and on the calendar. Thanks,

Mrs Nunwick
