Final Call for Clubs

Hello,

We still have quite a few places left in clubs. This is a first for us and we can only think it is either the parentpay system or whether it is the small charge we have introduced. We do hope you understood why we had to charge (staffing and resources) to keep our school budget run well. We think 50p an hour -  for good quality childcare alone - is a bargain! Remember if your child is eligible for free school meals, all clubs are free.

Monday - only 13 pupils are doing Cross Country. Come on Moss Park - we usually enter 20+ into the Saturday competitions!

Tuesday - only 15 pupils are down to Computing Club. I am expanding this to Y5 and Y6 now if this helps parents with more than one child. Please apply asap.

Tuesday - Only 12 pupil have signed up to do Choir with Miss Jones from Trafford Music Service - this is the lowest number ever and we love singing at MPJS! Private music lessons cost a fortune...

Tuesday - Only 5 pupils are in Board Games club - this may have to be cancelled or merged with Computing Club if numbers don't rise.

Wednesday - only 6 pupils in Y5/6 have signed up for Film Club. We are expanding this to Y3 and Y4. Please apply if your child is interested but was too young when we first advertised.

Please sign up today or ask at the office for any clubs you think your chld will enjoy - they can do a third club no problem. They get the chance to try new things and have fun with their friends - and off the electronics!

I spoke to Nathan Lowe who runs Longford Park football club at the weekend and we are in talks to do an after school football club. But as this is £3 per week per pupil (ie £30 for a block), I am not sure if we will get the numbers now. We will have to have a think and perhaps introduce in spring.

We hope to see numbers rise as the week goes on.

Thanks,

Mrs N and all the staff at MPJS
