Weekly News 7th September 2020

Hello,

Thanks everyone for a great start to the school year - everyone has been really supportive and it is fantastic to see our school family back together again.

Start times

You may know that we have always started at MPJS at 8.50 am. We put a temporary 9.00 am start time to get us all through safely, but mornings are working really well. So from Monday, we will be locking the gate at 8.55 am for a few weeks until the end of this half term. Don’t forget – if you have children in the infants, always drop off here first.

Clubs start next week

This is going to be a reduced choice for the term to avoid pupil bubbles moving around school and to ensure all our end of day cleaning can get done. We are not going to charge for clubs this term as each year group will get a shorter block of 6 lessons – school will absorb the cost for all pupils this term. Parents will pick their children up from the year group parent zone in the playground – this keeps us all safe.

Parentpay & Clubs

You need a Parentpay account to sign your child up to clubs and give consent. Please note that this is our communication platform for letters and emails – you do not have to give payment card details.

We are going paper free this year for hygienic, environmental and time reasons. If you have a mobile phone, you can do it!

We will continue to support you with getting on ParentPay – The Office Staff plus Mr Ward will be available all day on Friday 11th September from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm.

  • We can help getting the app on your phone or device (bring anything in and you can use our hot spot if needed
  • We can show your how to activate your email
  • We can even set up an email for you if you have not got one – we just need a mobile number
  • We can answer all your questions!

Don’t let your child miss out on clubs – let’s get 100% of you set up! You can start applying for clubs on Friday afternoon.

Covid testing and communication

I deactivated my info@mpjs-trafford.co.uk email when we came back to school BUT after speaking to other Headteachers this morning, one local school managed a weekend positive covid test result really easily because the parent was able to let the Headteacher know out of school hours. The Headteacher was then able to then inform the class bubble and staff on the Sunday afternoon rather than having to send children straight back home on Monday morning. I'm sure you'd like to know straight away if there is a positive case in school. So I am back on! Please keep this as just our 'covid communication' channel. info@mpjs-trafford.co.uk goes directly to me.

Friday's Certificate Assembly live on our Facebook page will have year 6 in the audience. Please send us your shout outs. Superlearners will also be in the hall - seated on separate chairs and spaced out safely. Join us at 10.00 am!

Take care,

Mrs Nunwick
